Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Boise, ID is hiring a Service Advisor to drive service operations for commercial trucks and equipment. You will gather customer needs, perform walk-arounds, and diagnose using J-Pro, referencing prior service history to propose required repairs.

You will explain maintenance requirements per manufacturer specs, document issues clearly, and secure customer signatures. You’ll establish timelines with the shop and coordinate payments and approvals, ensuring accurate repair

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of service experience preferred or equivalent.
• Valid manufacture training where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on-the-spot diagnostics; print report and reference service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Write up and verify customer vehicle problems; obtain signatures.
• Set promised time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Handle payment method and credit approval if needed.
• Create and manage repair orders and keep customer informed of progress.
