Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado is seeking a Triage RN to perform care coordination and professional nursing functions, assessing patient health concerns using established protocols and directing dispositions to emergency care, urgent care, or clinic visits within the scope of the licensed practice. You will support providers by triaging patient calls and portal messages.

You will document all nursing assessments in the electronic health record and contribute to quality improvement as part of a care

Qualifications

• 3 years clinical experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
• Knowledge of disease processes and development across all age groups required.
• Nursing assessment skills with/without visual inspection.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses patient health care needs using triage protocols.
• Participates in weekly KPI huddles to review performance indicators and call times.
• Obtains input from providers to determine best clinical actions.
• Documents symptoms, nursing assessment, advice and patient responses in the EHR.
• Follows policies and protocols to ensure consistent care and improve outcomes.
