Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Climber in Birmingham, AL to climb, prune, and remove trees and assist with storm restoration as needed. A valid driver’s license and 1–2 years of residential or commercial line clearance experience are required; safety is priority and PPE must be worn.

This full-time role includes health insurance and a 401(k) plan. Expect to follow safety rules, inspect tools, load equipment, and work at heights using ropes, saws, and other gear.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes and rigging devices.
• Climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Emergency rescue techniques and basic first aid/CPR required.
• Be aware of electrical hazards near conductors and aerial rescue procedures.
• Able to work at heights in varying weather conditions.
• Must pass background check and drug screen; I-9 and E-Verify compliance.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees as directed by Foreperson.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; operate brush chipper input.
• Inspect tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Maintain communication with co-workers to ensure safety.
• Perform storm work duties as needed.
• Travel for storm restoration work when required.
