Job summary

BrightView Landscapes is seeking a Tree Care Service (TCS) Business Developer to manage the pipeline from prospecting to closing. You will collaborate with operations, finance, marketing, and proposal administration to respond to bids and achieve sales targets in tree care services.

The role requires a proactive leader with strong work ethic and ability to interact with the public and colleagues across the organization. Travel and field-based work are involved in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• TCIA or Certified Arborist certification is required/preferred.
• 3–5 years of extensive face-to-face B2B selling experience at mid-to-senior levels.
• Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales desirable.
• Experience managing multiple projects across a large territory.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with a CRM/SFA tool is beneficial.
• Proven track record of sales goal attainment in longer selling cycles.
• Highly competitive, positive, results-driven salesperson.
• Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills.
• Self-motivation and self-direction.
• Local knowledge/contacts in market segments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell and estimate Tree Care Services work in regional territories.
• Prospect using consultative sales techniques to build relationships, marketing, and pricing.
• Collaborate with landscape maintenance Account Managers and Branch Manager to develop Tree Care programs and estimates.
• Lead heavy phone prospecting, sales presentations, web demos, and contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
• Network to increase Tree Care services accounts in target markets.
• Aim to meet or exceed Tree Care services sales goals and work independently.
• Log activity in Salesforce consistently and reliably.
• Collaborate with internal resources to drive larger sales opportunities.
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key decision makers.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency.
• Communicate proactively with decision makers and influencers.
• Plan daily activities and hit benchmarks to close business.
