Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a seasoned leader to manage the VDC department across office locations, directing preconstruction, engineering, and field installation of VDC deliverables for a traveling Advanced Technology project portfolio including data centers and related markets.

The role requires overseeing budgets, staffing, loss prevention, and process improvements, with extensive collaboration across HR, finance, and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years' related experience and exposure to design, cost, sequence, logistics, and field installations as it relates to VDC.
• Thorough knowledge of VDC tools and applications in construction, cost, scheduling, estimating, and coordination principles.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Advanced project management expertise, able to develop, communicate and implement processes.
• Knowledgeable of economic and social issues and able to develop professional networks with industry organizations.
• Advanced presentation delivery skills to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences and influence decisions.
• Influential relationship building skills to lead others not directly reporting.
• Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Energetic, hands-on, proactive and continuous learner.
• Familiar with continuous improvement culture, methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage VDC department, office, and/or project budget including forecasting and actuals.
• Develop workforce plans for staff resources including hiring and capacity planning.
• Oversee VDC staff resources for performance and development.
• Collaborate with HR to define staffing and talent pipelines and participate in hiring.
• Draft and approve VDC action plans and schedules for RFPs.
• Maintain alignment with VDC strategies across offices or profit centers.
• Support business development with VDC content and visuals for proposals.
• Define and update VDC Services & Rates menu with leadership.
• Lead process improvements for VDC tools, workflows, and deliverables.
• Visit job sites to assist with VDC setup and resolution of issues.
