Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a Traveling Superintendent for Tenant Improvement projects in Downers Grove, IL. You will lead field operations, coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality while meeting project milestones.

The role requires extensive travel, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple shifts and crews across locations, with a focus on delivering high-quality tenant improvements on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5–25 years of construction experience.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
• OSHA certification and familiarity with safety protocols.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing/walking, lifting up to 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Attend post-award review meetings for project information and preplanning.
• Assist with scheduling construction activities, organization structure, staffing, and equipment needs.
• Direct and control construction to meet specifications and schedule while maximizing profit.
• Assist PM/engineer with material shipments and approvals of shop drawings/material samples.
• Coordinate subcontractors to integrate work with project schedules.
• Inform supervisors and subcontractors of schedule changes promptly.
• Assist in preparing progress and cost reports reflecting actual costs.
• Review and approve requisitions, POs, invoices, and other reports.
• Coordinate with owner representatives and architects during project.
• Hold job-site meetings with PM and regional manager.
• Report to PM on progress, plans, and issues affecting costs/schedules.
• Maintain a daily diary documenting significant project facts and decisions.
• Adhere to the company safety program across all phases and areas.
