Job summary

JE Dunn Construction seeks a Traveling Project Manager 1 - Justice to oversee nationwide courthouses and corrections facilities. You will lead safety culture, coordinate preconstruction, manage subcontractors, and drive schedules and budgets in support of JE Dunn’s Justice portfolio.

The role requires 5+ years in construction management, a bachelor’s degree, and willingness to travel; strong leadership, communication, and Lean principles are essential for project success.

Qualifications

• BA in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in construction management, preferably on large justice/corrections projects.
• Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure an injury-free environment; mentor staff.
• Manage prestart and preconstruction activities including takeoff and scope.
• Lead buyout, subcontracting, pricing, and bid process with schedule.
• Coordinate submittals; ensure approvals and timely responses.
• Interface with stakeholders: owner, design team, subs, vendors.
• Communicate project status, risks, and change requests regularly.
• Prepare cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly financial reporting.
• Support project closeout using best-practice processes.
