Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers and ensure work aligns with plans and specifications. This role requires relocation to the project site; the posting notes the location shown is not the project site.

You will review shop drawings, update schedules, assist in bid development, and coordinate meetings. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor, or comparable internship experience, preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills; expresses ideas clearly in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work installed meets plans and specs.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals for compliance and constructability.
• Publishes weekly progress reports and updates project schedules as needed.
• Coordinates meetings and prepares meeting notes; supports bid development and scope of work for trade contractors.
• Ensures safety policies are followed and reports unsafe activities.
