Job summary

Layton Construction in Sandy, UT is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer for the National Building Group. The role requires relocation to the project site and offers exposure to diverse markets nationwide.

You will assist Project Managers by reviewing plans, coordinating with owners/architects, and tracking shop drawings, schedules and procurement. A bachelor’s in CM or related field and 1+ year of GC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial GC or internship preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand project plans.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work meets plans and specs.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance.
• Coordinate with Owner/Architect meetings and distribute minutes.
• Publish weekly progress reports and maintain project schedules.
• Assist in bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Monitor safety procedures and adhere to company policies.
