Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Patient Services Representative for Ambulatory Services. The role involves greeting patients, completing registrations, verifying demographics and insurance, and collecting out-of-pocket responsibilities.

You will coordinate with Financial Counselors and schedule follow-ups. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with insurance processes, and strong communication and numerical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access experience (scheduling, registration and financial clearance) preferred.
• Insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements is a plus.
• Strong communication, math and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for appointments and manage flow.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Complete registration and collect out-of-pocket liabilities.
• Verify benefits and collect balances or estimates due.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselor for assistance.
• Assist with visit closure and scheduling follow-ups.
• Maintain knowledge of payer pre-certification requirements.
• Collaborate with management to improve customer service and productivity.
