Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support multiple branches with exceptional customer service and efficient transactional processing. You will travel within a designated area to assist staff, balance cash, and handle routine banking tasks while promoting digital self-service opportunities.

Responsibilities include engaging customers, logging complaints, escalating issues as needed, and ensuring compliance with AML/KYC regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
• Ability to travel between branches on an as-needed basis.
• Proven verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service.
• Well-organized with good time management and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to customer service standards and deliver solutions by understanding customer needs.
• Educate customers through digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities.
• Engage in lobby management, greet customers, and address immediate needs.
• Balance and process customer transactions accurately per Bank Policy.
• Resolve escalated account issues and log complaints.
• Direct sales opportunities to appropriate banking partners.
• Handle branch operations (cash ordering, vault, ATM, wire transfers).
• Process customer/account maintenance accurately, and complete AML/KYC activities.
• Adhere to compliance and risk controls and support the M&T Bank brand.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
