Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Leader for a full-time traveling assignment on a data center project. You will enforce EH&S programs, lead safety training, manage environmental risk assessments, and guide teams on regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

The role requires strong incident management, leadership experience, and the ability to coordinate with subcontractors and joint-venture partners on safety standards. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 7 years of related construction safety experience, or equivalent combo of education, training, and experience
• CHST certification required or within 6 months of appointment to this position
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training and maintain current First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations
• Working knowledge and application of safety/environmental principles and techniques
• Cross-functional knowledge of general construction operations
• Experience in incident management and response, ability to assess construction processes to identify known and potential safety related exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions
• Management experience with ability to delegate and direct work of others
• Professional verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation delivery skills
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills to build teams and professional relationships
• Able to work to in non-structured environment and flexibility to prioritize responsibilities for self and others
• Travel required, access to reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and enforce EH&S on a single construction project, based on HQ policy
• Build relationships with project teams to lead EH&S programs
• Assess EH&S practices and develop action plans to mitigate risks
• Communicate requirements to project leadership and teams to adopt changes
• Lead training of EH&S policies for project leadership and teams
• Conduct surveys to ensure environmental risk mitigation
• Review environmental reports and EPA/OSHA regulations to guide project team
• Develop and implement safety, health and wellbeing programs for the project
• Develop reports to explain safety performance and present findings
• Negotiate contracts for safety services and on-site wellness/medical services
• Manage and mentor Project Safety team and participate in hiring/onboarding
• Other duties as assigned
