Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead daily on-site operations for projects across the United States. The role involves scheduling, production, procurement of materials, and managing direct labor along with any contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

The position requires full-time travel to project locations nationwide. Ideal candidates have a construction management background, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to read plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience on ground-up commercial projects, light industrial or cold storage.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes and design requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures, staffing, and schedules for each construction phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to align with work sequence.
• Inform and coordinate with subcontractors, craft personnel, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Resolve issues with supervisory and engineering staff to improve methods and solve problems.
• Inspect progress to ensure conformance with plans and schedules.
• Manage crew assignments and labor costs across projects.
