Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Superintendent to oversee daily site operations, schedules, and procurement. This role requires extensive travel to project locations nationwide and close coordination with project management and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates have a construction management degree, 5+ years in ground-up commercial work, and strong communication skills to interface with clients and teams. A valid license and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply building codes accurately.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Study project specifications and plan procedures with staffing and equipment needs.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and monitor look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization activities.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet project schedules.
• Monitor progress, refine schedules, and communicate construction issues to stakeholders.
