Job summary

Layton Construction Company is seeking an on-site Superintendent to manage daily operations at a project site, overseeing scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. This role requires full-time travel to project locations nationwide, with the project site not reflected by the listed location.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field and 5+ years in ground-up commercial projects, particularly light

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans procedures for construction based on start/finish times, staffing requirements, and available tools/equipment.
• Interacts with the Project Manager to determine the project schedule and uses look-ahead schedules to assess progress.
• Coordinates the pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager prior to mobilization.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
• Ensures all parties are informed of construction issues and progress through regular meetings with crews, subcontractors, and clients.
• Works with supervisory and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the project workforce.
• Confers with supervisory/engineering personnel and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure conformance to specifications and schedules.
• Manages the project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs and adjusts schedules accordingly.
• Ensures safety, quality standards, and housekeeping are maintained on site.
