Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. The role requires travel to project locations nationwide and on-site management of direct labor and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in construction management and 5+ years of ground-up commercial project experience, with strong communication, planning, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the project site.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Spanish knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on schedule and staffing requirements.
• Work with the Project Manager to develop look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction and mobilization activities.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to fit the schedule.
• Ensure project stakeholders are informed of progress and issues.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, clients, and craft personnel.
• Resolve labor and safety concerns and manage costs.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan with the project team.
