Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a traveling Superintendent to oversee daily operations on multiple job sites nationwide. This full-time role involves scheduling, production, procurement of materials, and supervision of direct labor, with oversight of subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

The position requires a Bachelor's in construction management (or equivalent) and 5+ years of large-scale commercial experience; travel is mandatory and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects; light industrial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes and reading blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Understanding of building codes and design requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic Spanish proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on schedules and staffing requirements for each phase.
• Develop and use look ahead schedules to track progress and identify issues.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with the Project Manager.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Ensure all parties are informed of construction issues and progress.
• Resolve complaints and oversee safety and quality standards on site.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specifications and schedules.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Manage crew assignments and labor costs across projects.
• Enforce company policies and safety standards.
