Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Superintendent to manage daily site operations, scheduling, production and procurement for ground-up projects. This national group requires full-time travel and on-site presence at the project location. Location shown is not the project site.

You will coordinate with the PM, direct material delivery, and ensure progress aligns with plans and schedules while prioritizing safety and quality. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Has a valid driver's license and can travel to project site.
• Understands reading blueprints accurately.
• Basic Spanish preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong management skills to supervise crews and subcontractors.
• Maintains professional conduct and ethics.
• Knowledge of CMiC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction based on start/finish times and staffing.
• Interacts with PM to determine project schedule and uses look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinates pre-construction meeting with PM.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials for scheduled delivery.
• Keeps all parties informed of progress and issues with stakeholders.
• Resolves labor disputes with supervision and reps.
• Inspects work for conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manages project using progress reports, materials, and costs.
• Collaborates with PM to prepare the Project Management Plan.
• Ensures safety, quality standards, and housekeeping are followed.
