Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Superintendent to oversee daily operations on multi‑site job sites, coordinating scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower and equipment. This role requires travel to projects nationwide, with regular on‑site presence during critical phases.

You will supervise direct labor, liaise with Project Managers and subcontractors, and ensure adherence to specifications, safety, and schedules. Strong leadership, planning and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience on ground‑up commercial projects, especially in light industrial/cold storage.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand building codes.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on schedules and staffing requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look‑ahead plans.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to match work schedules.
• Coordinate meetings with subs, clients, and craft personnel to review scope and progress.
• Prepare and contribute to Project Management Plan and maintain safety and quality standards.
