Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a capable Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations on a site, coordinating scheduling, procurement, and manpower for successful project completion. The role requires nationwide travel and on-site work at project locations, with a focus on efficient crew management and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in construction management or related field and 5+ years in ground-up commercial projects, along with strong communication skills and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes and design requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction and staffing.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules with Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings before mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Inform all parties on progress and construction issues; coordinate with subs and clients.
• Resolve issues with supervisors and subcontractors to improve methods.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manage project resources and adjust schedules to control costs.
