Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a traveling Superintendent to support projects across Tennessee. The role oversees daily site operations, staffing, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with project teams to drive on-time completion.

Travel between project sites is a key part of the position. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of ground-up commercial construction experience, reads blueprints, and holds a construction management degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years' experience on ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Valid driver's license with ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of a construction site, including scheduling, production, procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Supervise all direct labor and oversee contracted work to ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to develop look-ahead schedules and mobilization plans.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Communicate progress and issues with clients, subs, and craft personnel; resolve workforce concerns.
• Collaborate with project management to prepare and enforce the Project Management Plan.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
