Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a traveling Superintendent to lead the daily operation of multiple job sites in Tennessee, coordinating scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and oversee contracted work to ensure timely, quality project completion.

The role requires a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Has a valid driver's license and is able to travel to and from the project site.
• Understands and applies building codes and other design requirements correctly and reads blueprints accurately.
• Has good knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment.
• Supervise all direct labor positions on the project and manage contracted work to ensure completion.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine project schedule and use look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules and milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are maintained on site.
