Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a skilled Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, scheduling, production, and material procurement for ground-up commercial projects. The role requires managing direct labor and coordinating any contracted work to ensure successful project completion.

The position involves full-time travel to project locations nationwide, with no fixed on-site location. You will work closely with the Project Manager and craft personnel to meet milestones and maintain safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the project site.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase.
• Develop and utilize look-ahead schedules with Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to match schedules.
• Inform all parties on construction issues and progress with regular updates.
• Resolve labor and subcontractor issues with supervisory personnel.
• Inspect work for compliance with specs and schedules.
• Manage project progress, costs, and resource allocation.
