Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Superintendent to oversee daily operations on a ground-up commercial project. Travel is required to project locations nationwide, with on-site management of scheduling, production, procurement, and field supervision.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in construction management, 5+ years in ground-up projects (light industrial/cold storage), strong communication, knowledge of CMiC preferred, and ability to read blueprints and manage costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Read and understand building codes and blueprints accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication; Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures and staffing based on specifications and schedules.
• Develop look-ahead schedules with the Project Manager and monitor progress.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and subcontractor reviews.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping compliance on site.
• Monitor labor costs and adjust crew assignments as needed.
• Communicate project status to clients and internal stakeholders.
