Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations on projects nationwide. The role involves scheduling, procurement of materials, and managing direct labor and subcontractors to meet project timelines.

The ideal candidate has extensive construction experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret building codes. This full-time traveling position requires coordination with Project Managers and clients across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience on large-scale, ground-up commercial projects.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Able to read blueprints and apply building codes.

Responsibilities

• Plan construction procedures based on specs and schedules.
• Work with Project Manager to develop look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials per schedule.
• Communicate progress and issues to clients and crew; coordinate with subs and vendors.
• Resolve field issues with supervision, engineers, and suppliers.
• Inspect work for spec conformance and schedule compliance.
• Manage labor and costs; move personnel between projects as needed.
