Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and manage contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

Travel outside of California is required for extended assignments; travel home approximately monthly with return to California at project conclusion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years as a commercial construction Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures, staffing, and materials.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Lead meetings with subs, clients, and craft personnel to review scope and progress.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specifications and schedules.
• Manage labor, hires, and crew assignments to control costs.
