Job summary

Layton Construction in the United States is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee day‑to‑day job site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and contracted work to ensure on‑time project delivery.

The role requires full‑time travel on-site to project locations nationwide. Candidates should have strong leadership, planning, and communication skills and the ability to coordinate with Project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground‑up commercial projects, particularly light industrial/cold storage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Understanding of building codes and blueprints; knowledge of subcontractors' scopes and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures with staffing for each phase.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and look‑ahead schedules.
• Lead pre‑construction meetings prior to mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to align with schedules.
• Inform all parties of progress, issues, and schedule updates with stakeholders.
• Resolve worker grievances with supervision and labor representatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and inspectors to resolve construction problems.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manage project progress, budget, and labor costs across multiple sites.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize crews and maintain staffing.
• Prepare and review the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Enforce company policies on safety, quality, and housekeeping.
