Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead daily operations on a traveling project site. You will oversee scheduling, production, procurement of materials, and manpower with direct supervision of field crews and subcontractors.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager to develop look-ahead schedules, review blueprints, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across stages of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience on ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial/cold storage
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to/from project site
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes and design requirements
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes and tolerances
• Strong written and verbal communication; Spanish preferred
• Good administrative and supervisory skills
• Problem-solving and proactive leadership abilities
• Organized and professional with initiative
• Experience with office equipment and productivity software
• CMiC knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures based on start/finish times and staffing needs.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine schedules and use look-ahead schedules.
• Schedule pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work timelines.
• Ensure all parties are informed of progress and issues; coordinate with subs and clients.
• Resolve issues with supervision and craft personnel; monitor safety and quality.
• Review progress against plans; adjust schedules and allocations for cost control.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Enforce company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
