Job summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution of work for assigned construction projects. May be assigned responsibility for one or more projects at a time.

Maximizes project profitability and promotes the Layton objectives and goals. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction management (or related field) and 5+ years of experience, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids and change orders.
• Understanding contractual language and construction laws.
• Familiarity with building codes and plans/blueprints.
• Strong teamwork and delegation abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable project outcomes with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare project management plan (PMP) and conduct pre-award meetings.
• Lead value engineering, negotiate subcontracts, and obtain permits.
• Develop project schedule and milestones with site superintendent.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment within budget.
• Monitor site performance for cost, safety, quality, and schedule.
• Negotiate change orders and manage cost/profit impact.
• Prepare monthly client pay requests and manage collections.
• Manage project close-out procedures and as-built drawings.
• Interface with Estimating for cost data.
• Maintain client relationship and meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
