Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, management, and execution for assigned construction projects. You will oversee budgets, schedules, permits, subcontracts, and vendor relations to maximize profitability and meet owner expectations.

Responsibilities include developing PMP, coordinating with teams, and ensuring safety and quality standards. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years PM experience in commercial construction are required, with strong negotiation and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or the equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of five or more years project management experience.
• Has a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Has an in-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids, market rates, and change orders.
• Understands contractual language and concepts to protect the company while delivering quality service.
• Has working knowledge of construction laws and practices.
• Understands building codes and design requirements as needed.
• Reads and understands plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knows how to delegate and manage subordinates effectively.
• Demonstrates strong negotiation skills.
• Self-starter, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal and external teams and customers.
• Ensure integrity, safety, and quality in all work.
• Assist in estimates and prepare project budgets and cost reports.
• Lead the project team in developing the PMP and schedule.
• Manage subcontractor change orders and cost implications.
• Coordinate permits and regulatory requirements as needed.
• Develop client pay requests and monitor collections.
• Oversee procurement and manage project materials within budget.
• Develop and monitor quality, safety, and risk plans.
• Close out projects with as-built drawings and final documentation.
• Coordinate with Estimating and other departments to meet corporate objectives.
