Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee full lifecycle of ground-up commercial projects, coordinating estimates, budgets, schedules, and procurement. The role emphasizes profitability, safety, quality, and client satisfaction across complex deliveries.

The candidate should have 5+ years in relevant projects, strong knowledge of contracts and building codes, and proven leadership in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly light industrial/cold storage.
• Understands estimating concepts and how to verify bids and process change orders.
• Understands contractual language and construction laws/practices.
• Knows building codes and plans, blueprints, specs.
• Team player with delegation skills and clear communications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the project management plan (PMP) and organize pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Prepare estimates and project budgets; manage procurement within budget.
• Develop and track project schedule and milestones with the superintendent.
• Control contract documents and ensure complete, consistent execution of the construction contract.
• Manage change orders, cost impacts, and owner/subcontractor payments; coordinate with cost accounting.
• Close out projects with as-builts, final documents, and recommendations.
