Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Tech/First Assist CST for a CVOR open heart surgery unit with vein harvesting experience in Arizona. The role requires 1 year CVOR/open heart experience, First Assist certification (or grandfathering), and AHA certifications.

Day shifts 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with weekend rotations; travel assignment with housing and licensure reimbursements. Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility and cannot be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in CVOR open heart, vascular, and vein harvesting.
• First Assist certification required (or grandfathering clause accepted).
• License required if applicable.
• AHA certifications required.
• Experience with open heart and vascular procedures strongly preferred.
• Calm and experienced demeanor suited for high-acuity cardiovascular cases.

Responsibilities

• CVOR Open Heart Surgery unit in a 171-bed community hospital and regional referral center.
• Level 3 trauma center and Certified Chest Pain Center.
• Adult patient population undergoing open heart and vascular surgeries, including vein harvesting.
• Day shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with every other weekend.
• Call requirements include weekdays (three days) and rare weekend call from Friday night through Saturday 9:00 AM.
• Uses Stryker equipment and Medhost EHR.
• No floating required.
• Serve as First Assist for open heart and vascular surgeries, including vein harvesting.
• Work alongside a surgical team in a fast-paced cardiovascular surgery environment.
• Weekly orientation provided.
• Scrubs provided by facility.
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for this travel assignment.
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment.
