Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric heart, IABP, adult heart transplant, cell saver, vascular is preferred.
• Meditech experience preferred.
• State licensure if applicable.
• No employment gaps over 90 days in the past year.

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and heart/cardiovascular surgery expertise.

Requirements

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required (First Assist not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital or specialty experience required
• Heart/cardiovascular surgery experience required, including heart transplant experience
• Pediatric heart, intra-aortic balloon pump, adult heart transplant, cell saver, and peripheral vascular experience preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• State licensure required if applicable
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CVOR unit on the 5th floor South surgery department
• 13-week assignment with 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift and rotating weekends
• On-call requirements apply
• All staff are required to float per facility floating policy
• Typical patient assignment of 3-4 cases, including admission holds
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Procedures include coronary artery bypass, surgical valve replacements, adult heart transplant, TAVR, pediatric hearts, thoracic/lung procedures, and ventricular assist devices
• Assist with cardiovascular surgical procedures in a high-acuity CVOR setting
• Facility provides scrubs for CST staff
• Hair, nails, tattoos, and piercings must meet facility dress code standards, with body art covered when feasible and only ear piercings permitted
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered
