Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Surgical First Assistant with independent endoscopic vein harvest and open heart experience for a hospital CVOR position.

Requirements include 2+ years of independent Endoscopic Vein Harvest and Open Heart First Assist, CSFA/CFA/SA-C certification, and a license if applicable. Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius and be available for a day shift with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of independent Endoscopic Vein Harvest experience using Terumo or Maquet 6 Pro devices.
• Minimum 2 years of Open Heart First Assist experience.
• Certification CSFA, CFA, or SA-C required.
• License required if applicable.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac First Assist role in a hospital with 2.5 CVORs.
• Day shift 6:00 AM–3:00 PM over a 13-week assignment, 36 hours per week.
• On-call every third weekend and every third weekday.
• Floats to Main OR as needed.
• Procedures include CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, and open/endovascular aorta repair; thoracic cases included.
• Assist in cardiac and vascular procedures as part of the surgical team.
• Scrubs provided by the hospital.
• Does not accept local candidates; must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• One professional reference required.
