American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with Level 1 Trauma experience and NBSTSA CST certification for a cardiovascular operating room position.

The role requires 2+ years CVOR experience, BLS and CST NBSTSA certification, and 1+ year Epic EMR experience. CVOR first assist proficiency is essential in a busy Level I Trauma Center environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience with Level 1 Trauma
• BLS certification is required
• CST certification through NBSTSA is required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
• CVOR experience with first assist responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Hospital CVOR department averaging 3 heart cases per day
• Perform first assist roles in CVOR procedures (e.g., aneurysm repair, CABG, valve procedures)
• Day shift 4x10 hour shifts 0600-1630
• On-call after shift hours Fri-Sun; two call days weekly and 1-2 weekends every 6 weeks
• Floating to other units/campuses as needed
• Work in a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet status
• Support advanced cardiovascular procedures in CVOR
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Travel pairs/trios welcome; local candidates considered
• RTO/block scheduling subject to booking approval

Job description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with Level 1 Trauma experience and NBSTSA CST certification for a cardiovascular operating room position.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required with Level 1 Trauma experience
• BLS certification required
• CST certification through NBSTSA required (no pending certifications accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• CVOR experience required with proficiency in first assist roles
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Hospital CVOR department averaging 3 heart cases per day
• Performs first assist roles in CVOR procedures including Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atherectomy, ASD repair, Cardiomyoplasty, CABG, ECMO, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, and VAD management
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 0600-1630
• On-call required after shift hours Friday through Sunday, with at least two call days weekly and 1-2 weekends every 6-week schedule
• Floating required to other units or campuses based on census, limited to units where qualified and trained, including the Main OR if CVOR volume is low
• Work in an 864-bed acute care teaching hospital and Level I Adult Trauma Center with Magnet status for nursing excellence
• Support advanced cardiovascular surgical procedures within a high-acuity CVOR environment
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Travel pairs and trios are welcome
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
• RTO and block scheduling requests must be submitted in advance and are subject to facility approval at time of booking
