American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for an acute care hospital in Westminster, CO. Requires Compact or CO RN license and critical care PACU/ICU experience, with BLS/ACLS/PALS. Expect on-call, varied shifts, and patient ratios of 1:1 to 2:1 depending on case mix.

Position offers housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and comprehensive benefits. Must reside within 60 miles for orientation and provide references.

Formación

• Active RN license (Compact or CO state license) required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required, pending certifications not accepted
• Critical care experience in PACU or ICU required
• RNs must be able to read cardiac strips
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Responsabilidades

• Acute care setting in a PACU unit with 13 Preop beds, 19 PACU Phase 1 beds, and 5 Phase 2 beds
• Covers Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2 recovery care
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for pediatric or unstable patients and 2:1 otherwise
• Common cases include ortho (total joints and spine), OB/GYN, general surgery, urology, and endoscopy
• ICU patients may recover in this unit
• Uses Epic EMR
• Variable 10 or 12 hour day shifts staggered between 6am-10am
• Floating required within Preop and PACU Phase 1 and 2
• On-call required one night per week (1930-0730) and approximately every 6th weekend
• Holiday call required as needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas (24-hour shifts)
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Charge nurse may take an assignment as needed
• No nurse aides on this unit
• Respiratory equipment used includes vents, optiflow, BiPap, and CPAP
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2 units
• Hybrid self-scheduling model with shift requests accepted but not guaranteed; no block scheduling
• Blue scrubs required, with hospital-provided scrubs worn during shifts
• Unit-specific orientation focuses primarily on PACU with some Preop exposure
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• Candidates must be in-state for orientation week, though initial modules may be completed remotely
• Candidates with direct employment history (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible
• PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
