American Traveler is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week day shift assignment in California. Requires at least 1 year PACU experience and an active CA RN license, with BLS/ACLS/PALS on file.

The role includes day shifts, potential float to nearby facilities, and duties across Phase I/II recovery, with emphasis on perioperative care and medications management.

Qualifications

• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsabilités

• Work in the PACU unit across Phase I/II and pre/post care.
• Support ambulatory, outpatient, and inpatient surgical patients.
• Day shift 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with variations 7–11 hours.
• Travelers may float to sister facilities near the site.
• Provide pre/post-operative nursing care across ortho, GI, GYN, urology, plastics.
• Administer and monitor antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and reversal agents.
• Perform assessments, discharge instructions, and follow-up calls.
• Must work 3 of the 5 major holidays.
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; changes may not be accommodated.

American Traveler is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and a California RN license.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• ICU or ED experience preferred in addition to PACU experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in airway assessment, intubation assistance, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line care
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and arterial line management
• Familiarity with pre/post-operative patient care including EKG, consent, and medication reconciliation
• Experience with various surgical specialties including ortho, gyn, urology, and neuro/spine cases
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance processing

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU unit, covering Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and Pre-Post care
• Supports ambulatory/outpatient and inpatient surgical patient populations
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, variable 7, 8, 9, or 11 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties including ortho, GI, GYN, urology, and plastics
• Administer and monitor medications such as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and reversal agents
• Perform patient assessments, discharge instructions, and follow-up calls as part of recovery care
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-offer changes may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Only one submission allowed at a time within the Providence Health System
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
