Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU Days position requiring a MO or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

The role includes working in a hospital PACU, 3x12 shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Flu vaccination is required; local candidates considered with potential bill-rate adjustments for proximity.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required at time of consideration.
• Current certifications ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PACU.
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months.
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required.

Responsibilities

• Works in the Recovery Room/PACU department of a hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Rotating holiday coverage required.
• Floating within scope as needed.
• Uses EPIC EMR system.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care including pre- and post-operative monitoring and recovery support.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy including central line care, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to emergency situations and changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and modify patient care plans.
• Supervise and delegate duties to unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with exemptions requiring client approval.
• Black scrub color required.
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, must be made up during the assignment.
• Local candidates accepted, though bill rate may be reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility.
• Level III Emergency and Trauma Center with Comprehensive Cardiac Center, Primary Stroke Center, and STEMI Center designations
