Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN-PACU with CA licensure and 2+ years of PACU/ICU experience for a day-shift assignment at a peri-anesthesia unit.

The role offers a 4x10 hour day shift and requires no weekend shifts, with travel between campuses as needed. Epic charting is used for documentation and patient care spans multiple anesthesia recovery phases.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years PACU RN experience; ICU experience required.
• ICU experience required.
• Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Proficiency in airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and peri-anesthesia pharmacology.
• Experience with cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and general surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide peri-anesthesia care to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission to discharge.
• Day shift schedule: 4x10 hour shifts with start times between 10:00 and 11:00.
• No weekend shifts.
• Floating to other campuses as needed.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide individualized nursing care applying peri-anesthesia standards, airway management, and pharmacology.
• Assess and manage patients across all anesthesia recovery phases.
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions.
• Holiday coverage may be required; up to one holiday per contract.
• Maximum of 7 RTO days per contract.
• Returning employees require one-year separation before returning as travelers.
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within 50 miles.

• Cath Lab experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and pharmacology related to peri-anesthesia care
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and general surgery patients

• Assess and manage patients across multiple phases of anesthesia recovery including general, spinal, and MAC anesthesia
• Monitor and manage patients with various cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions
• Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Maximum of 7 RTO days per contract
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as travelers
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
