American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2+ years of PeriOperative experience and a MT or compact RN license.

Responsibilities include managing a 16-bed PACU, caring for various surgical specialties, and adhering to ASPAN standards. The role features 10-hour shifts, on-call rotation, and potential travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Active MT or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of PeriOperative/PACU experience required.
• Experience with the above patient population and diagnoses required.
• Cerner EMR experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• 16-bed PACU unit with an average daily census of 35 patients.
• Cares for Phase I post-anesthesia and critical care patients across Neuro, Ortho, General, Thoracic, ENT, GYN, Urology, Cardiac, Plastics, and Vascular specialties.
• Patient ratios follow ASPAN standards.
• Uses Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and GE monitors.
• 10-hour day shifts from 7A-5:30P, 40 hours per week.
• Floating required between PACU and Post-op.
• Weekend coverage limited to call rotation, with on-call required once every 4-week period.
• Holiday coverage required.
• Schedules are built in 4-week increments.
• Provide post-anesthesia and critical care recovery to a diverse surgical patient population.
• Supported by Charge PACU RNs, Manager/Supervisor, OR Charge RN, and 24/7 Hospitalist, Intensivist, and Respiratory Therapy coverage.
• Orientation includes facility-wide NEO and one week of unit-specific shifts.
• RTO requests must be approved through the manager.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
