Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week assignment in Kentucky. This role requires an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS due within 6 months of hire. ADN or ASN is required; BSN preferred.

Shifts are 3x12-hour days (0700–1930) with one weeknight call per week, every 3rd weekend, and one holiday per year. Travel pay requires residency within 75 miles, but locals are also considered under a lower rate.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred.
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• 16-bed PACU unit adjacent to the OR providing postoperative care to patients of all ages and acuities.
• Supports multiple surgical services and pain management including bronchoscopies.
• 3x 12-hour day shifts per week, 0700-1930.
• One weeknight call shift required per week.
• Every 3rd weekend required, 12-hour shifts each day.
• One holiday per year required.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care using the nursing process.
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures.
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius to qualify for the travel pay rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate.
