Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Perioperative/Outpatient Services role in Wyoming. Requires active WY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS with TNCC within 6 months. Two years of acute care or surgical experience preferred.

The position covers pre-op, PACU, procedural sedation, and post-op care with day shift 0700-1730, four days per week. Some call and holiday coverage apply, with EMR on Point Click.

Qualifications

• Active WY or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire.
• National perioperative certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care or surgical services preferred.
• Knowledge of perioperative and post-anesthesia care nursing principles, aseptic technique, and infection control.
• Strong hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and ACLS/PALS intervention skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative and Outpatient Services setting covering pre-op, PACU, procedural sedation, and post-op care.
• Cares for a full range of patients from newborn through geriatric adult.
• Day shift schedule, 0700-1730, 4 days per week.
• Call requirements apply.
• Holiday coverage required.
• EMR used: Point Click.
• Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment, and evaluation of outcomes for a range of ages.
• Prepare patients for procedures, assist physicians, and monitor hemodynamic status.
• Administer and monitor IV fluids and medications based on patient condition and age.
• Educate patients and families and review discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation throughout the care process.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and mentor nursing students.
• Coordinate patient transfers and communicate with other departments as needed.
• Attend mandatory in-services, education days, and department meetings.
