Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a short-term acute care hospital assignment in Oregon. The role requires a minimum of 1 year PACU experience, active RN license with Compact endorsement, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

You will work day shifts with 4x10s and be eligible for housing and travel reimbursements. Epic EMR charting is required, with potential for local assignments under a lower bill rate.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Compact endorsement required at submission.
• Certifications ACLS, BLS, PALS; CCRN and NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year PACU experience required.
• Epic charting/EMR experience required.
• Vehicle for assignment; must reside within 50 miles if local.

Responsibilities

• Care for PACU patients with 1:2 ratio in a short-term acute care setting.
• Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• On-call requirement of 100 hours, weekend coverage.
• Floating between units and sister facilities as needed.
• Provide perioperative care including airway management and ABG interpretation.
• Manage patients across neuro, spine, ortho, cardiac, and general surgery.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS (CCRN and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must have a valid Compact RN license and OR RN license
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 100 hours, including weekend on-call coverage
• Floating between units and sister facilities based on unit needs and skill set
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Facility scrubs provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units; any color scrub accepted elsewhere
• Provide perianesthesia care including airway management, ABG interpretation, and cardiac monitoring
• Care for surgical patients across specialties including neuro, spine, ortho, cardiac, and general surgery
• Support pre- and post-operative patient care, including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation
• Manage patients under various anesthesia types including general, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the offer process; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• No fee for parking at the facility
