Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for a PACU position in Texas. The role requires at least 1 year of PACU/ICU experience and a TX or Compact RN license. BLS/ACLS are mandatory, with a 13-week assignment in a 26-bed PACU unit using Meditech EMR.

Shifts run 8a-8p, 9a-9p or 10a-10p, with on-call one night weekly and two weekends in the contract. A competitive pay package includes housing allowances and reimbursements for travel and licensure.

Qualifications

Active RN license in TX or Compact.
Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
Minimum 1 year of PACU/ICU experience.
No gaps in work history 90 days or more in past 12 months.
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

Work in the Recovery Room (PACU) within the hospital's 2nd floor unit.
Care for surgical patients across General, Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics and Vascular cases.
Staffing 1:2 patient ratios on a 26-bed unit with Meditech EMR.
13-week assignment with shifts 8a-8p, 9a-9p or 10a-10p.
On-call one night per week and two weekends within the contract.

Responsibilities

Work in the Recovery Room (PACU) unit located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital, next to the OR
26-bed unit with varied staffing levels
Patient ratio of 1:2
Surgical patient population including General, Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Vascular procedures
Uses Meditech EMR
13-week assignment with varied shift times (8a-8p, 9a-9p, or 10a-10p)
On-call requirement of one night per week and two weekends within the 13-week contract
Night shift covered by closed on-call PACU nurses
Floating required to Day Surgery
Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across a variety of surgical specialties
Follows ASPAN guidelines for unit practice
Scrub attire requirement is royal blue or hospital-provided scrubs
Unit is described as having state-of-the-art equipment and an amazing staff team
Best fit for candidates with an easygoing and pleasant personality
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
