Responsibilities

Coordinate care as a primary point among disciplines.
Implement and monitor patient care plans and physician orders.
Assist with discharge planning and education as needed.
Follow Standard Precautions and PPE requirements.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2+ years of experience and ACLS certification.

Details

Work in the Surgery Recovery Room (PACU) of a hospital setting
Provides post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical and diagnostic procedures
Shift schedule from 09:00 to 21:30

Requirements

Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both AHA-issued
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
Graduation from an accredited nursing program required, BSN preferred
PACU, ICU, critical-care, ED, or perioperative experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-response skills required
Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

Monitor patients closely during the immediate post-anesthesia period, managing pain, nausea, and identifying complications
Serve as a primary coordinator among disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
Implement and monitor patient care plans, carrying out physician and nursing orders
Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
Work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment
