Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PACU position at an outpatient surgery center in Illinois. Requires 2+ years of PACU Phase I and II experience and an active IL RN license. BLS/ACLS are required; PALS preferred.

Epic EMR experience must be shown in employment history, with two strong references from recent supervisors. The role features a 6-week contract with day shifts (07:30–15:30), no weekends or on-call, and benefits such as health coverage and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of PACU Phase I and II experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history.
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge nurse in the relevant area, within the last year.
• Travel reference preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recovery room care for post-operative patients aged 11 months to 100 years.
• Cases performed under MAC, General, Local, and IVCS anesthesia.
• RN will perform both Phase I and Phase II recovery in the same bay.
• Day shift schedule, 07:30-15:30.
• No weekends, holidays, floating, or on-call requirements.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across both Phase I and Phase II for a diverse patient population.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service to be eligible as a traveler.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 6-week contract length.
