Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with 1-2 years of specialty experience and MN licensure for a 12-hour day shift role in a Level III trauma teaching hospital in Minnesota. This travel assignment covers PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 across two hospital locations, with 1:1 patient ratios and no on-call requirements.

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles away, have an active MN RN license (pending accepted), and Epic/Excellian charting experience.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license (pending accepted).
• Certifications ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS (PALS preferred).
• 1-2 years PACU/specialty experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required.
• 1 supervisor reference required.

Responsibilities

• Covers PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 at main hospital and Day Surgery Center.
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours with selected start times.
• 1:1 patient ratios.
• Floating between locations and possibly affiliate hospitals.
• Weekend shifts as needed; no on‑call requirements.
• Provide pre‑op, PACU, and Phase 2 recovery care across surgical specialties.
• Work in teaching hospital with Level III trauma designation.
• Scrubs provided by the unit.
• RTO ideally brief; first-time travelers welcome.

• 1-2 years of PACU/specialty experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Covers PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 at both the main hospital and Day Surgery Center (two locations within the same hospital system)
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (0800, 0930, or 1100 start times)
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Floating required between the main hospital and Day Surgery Center, and potentially to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Weekend shifts as needed per unit needs
• No on‑call requirements
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
• Provide pre‑op, PACU, and Phase 2 recovery care across surgical specialties including neuro, spine, ortho, cardiac, bariatrics, and more
• Teaching hospital with Level III trauma designation, 317 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
