Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room with circulating and robotic surgery experience for a day shift travel assignment in Texas. The role requires call coverage and resides outside a 110-mile radius of the facility.

Requirements include an active Texas RN license, BLS, and at least 2 years of OR circulating experience plus robotic surgery with Da Vinci Xi. Prior travel nursing and trauma level II hospital exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license in-hand at time of consideration.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience.
• Robotic surgery experience with Da Vinci Xi.
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with general surgery procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair).
• Experience with emergency management protocols (code, fire safety, MH).
• Universal protocol and specimen handling/labeling knowledge.
• Current Nursys verification required.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit duties in a hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM.
• Rotating call between two RNs for general surgery and emergency C-sections.
• Call rotation includes Mon, Tue, Fri–Sun one week and Wed–Thu the following week.
• Report to separate facility the first day before resuming at the main site.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Circulating duties in general surgery, gynecology, pediatric general surgery, and urology.
• Onsite drug screen with marijuana testing; positive results cancel assignment.
• Candidates must avoid products (including CBD) causing positive tests.
• Must reside outside 110-mile radius of the facility.

• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience required
• Robotic surgery experience required, including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred
• Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair
• Experience with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia
• Experience with universal protocol (time out) procedures and specimen handling/labeling
• Current Nursys verification required for consideration

• Facility conducts an onsite drug screen upon arrival that includes marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a documented plan for timely completion
• RTO must be submitted with initial consideration
