Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Texas. Requires 1+ year OR experience, TX or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and Epic charting proficiency. Robotics experience is a plus.

The role includes day shifts on a 3x12 schedule, on-call requirements, and holiday coverage across multiple surgical specialties. Housing allowance and per diem options may be provided for travelers.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit assignment.
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 10:30-23:00.

• On-call one full weekend per month plus 2 weekdays per month.
• Holiday coverage required.
• Circulating and/or scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties.
• Experience with robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mako) is a plus.
• RTO requests limited; manager approval required.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 1 year of OR experience and Epic charting proficiency for a 13-week assignment.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required for consideration
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA preferred; ARC not accepted
• State-issued photo ID required prior to consideration
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit assignment
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 10:30-23:00
• Weekly schedule includes Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday shifts
• On-call requirement of one full weekend per month plus 2 weekdays per month
• Holiday coverage required
• Role involves performing circulating and/or scrub duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, vascular, gynecology, urology, cardiovascular, plastics, and robotics
• Experience with robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako is a plus
• Exposure to trauma cases including gunshot wounds and motor vehicle accidents
• Completion of pre-start and orientation training modules is required, tracked through Healthstream
• Module completion hours vary by specialty and average 8-12 hours
• RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, subject to manager approval prior to contract signing
• Only one RTO holiday request permitted during the November-January holiday season
• Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
