Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Night shift NICU, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Unit has 24 rooms with 1:3 patient ratio during days
• Charting in Epic
• Weekend coverage per unit needs (~12 shifts per contract)
• On-call responsibilities per unit needs
• Floating within scope, including to sister facilities in the South region
• Provide newborn and post-partum care including circumcision site assessment and parent discharge teaching
• Follow isolation PPE protocols and baby-friendly care practices
• Phlebotomy and vaccine administration as needed
• Completion of facility training modules within first week

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience and current NRP certification.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with newborn care including thermoregulation, phototherapy, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Experience caring for large for gestational age, low birth weight, and hypoglycemic newborns
• Experience with IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs
• Level I and Level II/Special Care Nursery experience

Responsibilities

• Night shift position in the NICU, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Unit has 24 rooms with a 1:3 patient ratio during days
• Charting is done in Epic
• Weekend coverage required per unit needs, approximately 12 shifts per contract
• On-call responsibilities required per unit needs
• Floating within scope required, including potential floating to sister facilities within the South region
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Provide comprehensive newborn and post-partum care including circumcision site assessment, car seat education, and parent discharge teaching
• Follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols and baby friendly care practices
• Perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration as needed
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks in 2026-2027
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers accepted as long as experience requirements are met
• Candidates with prior UCHealth employment must disclose name used during that employment
• Candidates on UCHealth's internal do-not-use list will not be considered
• Travelers who completed a full year on assignment with UCHealth OR may not be rebooked for at least one year
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
